    • Method 4: Call Voter Helpline
    • Method 5: Visit Election Commission Office

In any State Information Registry (SIR) enumeration form is the Election Commission’s way of verifying and updating voter information in the state. If you’re an eligible voter in Telangana—whether new, updating your details, or your name isn’t in the 2002 voter list—this guide walks you through the entire process without confusion.

This is not a complicated process. You just need to follow the steps carefully and keep your documents ready.

Step 0: Before You Start (Important!)

Link Your Mobile Number to Your Voter ID First

Your mobile number MUST be linked with your Voter ID before filling the enumeration form. Here’s why: the SIR form requires OTP verification on your registered mobile number.

If Your Mobile is NOT Linked:

Fill Form 8 (Mobile Linking Form):

    1. Visit the Election Commission of India portal
    2. Navigate to “Voter Helpline” or “Form 8“
    3. Enter your details and submit
    4. Wait 24-48 hours for approval
    5. Your mobile number will be linked automatically

After linking, wait 24-48 hours before filling the SIR form. This isn’t a quick process—the system needs time to update.

Step 1: Gather Your Documents (Do This First)

Before you sit down to fill the form, keep these documents handy. You don’t need to upload them, but you’ll reference them while filling.

    Mandatory Documents:

    • ✅ Your Voter ID/EPIC number
    • ✅ Mobile number linked with Voter ID
    • ✅ Aadhaar card (for Aadhaar e-Sign verification)

    Useful Documents to Keep Ready:

    • ✅ Address proof (electricity bill, water bill, gas bill, passport, driving license, or bank passbook)
    • ✅ Your date of birth proof (birth certificate if available)
    • ✅ Passport (if you have one)
    • ✅ PAN card (if required)

If You Were Born Between 01-07-1987 and 02-12-2004:

    • ✅ Your date of birth proof
    • ✅ Either father’s or mother’s DOB/birthplace proof (you may need this during verification)

Pro tip: Take screenshots of your documents or keep them in a folder on your phone. Makes things faster.

Step 2: Access the SIR Enumeration Form

    Go to the Official Portal:

    1. Open your web browser
    2. Visit the Telangana Election Commission website
    3. Look for “SIR Enumeration Form” or “Online Voter Verification”
    4. Click on the form link
    5. You’ll land on the official form page

Don’t use third-party websites. Always go directly to the election commission’s official portal to avoid scams.

Step 3: Enter Your Basic Voter Information

Fill these details exactly as they appear on your Voter ID:

    1. Voter ID Number/EPIC – Enter your 10-digit voter ID
    2. Full Name – Spell it exactly as on your Voter ID
    3. Date of Birth – DD/MM/YYYY format
    4. Gender – Select Male/Female/Other
    5. Mobile Number – The number linked to your Voter ID (in Step 0)
    6. Email ID – Your active email (for confirmation)

Double-check each field. If information doesn’t match your Voter ID, the form may be rejected.

Step 4: Verify Your Mobile Number

An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number:

    1. Check your phone for an SMS from the Election Commission
    2. Receive the 6-digit OTP
    3. Enter the OTP in the form field
    4. Click “Verify”

If you don’t receive the OTP:

    • Wait 5 minutes and request again
    • Check if your mobile number is correctly linked (you did Form 8, right?)
    • Contact the Block Level Officer (BLO) if still not received

Step 5: Search for Your Parent’s Name in 2002 Voter List

This is the important part. The SIR form requires you to link your name with either parent’s name from the 2002 electoral roll. This proves your family’s continuity and voting rights history.

    How to Search:

    1. Click “Search Parent/Guardian Name“
    2. Enter your father’s first name in the search box
    3. Click “Search”
    4. A list of matching names will appear (with their voter IDs and addresses)
    5. Look for your father’s name and address
    6. Click “Select” next to the correct entry
    7. Done—your parent is linked

    Searching Multiple Names:

If father’s name is not in the 2002 list, try:

    • ✅ Mother’s name
    • ✅ Grandfather’s name
    • ✅ Grandmother’s name

The system allows you to link with any family member in the 2002 voter list.

Step 6: What If Parent’s Name is NOT in 2002 List?

Don’t panic. This doesn’t mean your form is rejected.

    Option 1 (Recommended):

    1. In the form, select: “Neither my name nor my parent’s name exists in Last SIR”
    2. Fill your current voter details normally
    3. Submit the form
    4. During verification, the BLO may ask for supporting documents (birth certificate, address proof, etc.)
    5. Alternative documents can be used to verify your eligibility

Option 2 (If You Know Your Grandparents Are in 2002 List):

    1. Search for grandfather’s name
    2. Or search for grandmother’s name
    3. Link with them instead

Important: According to CEO guidelines, not being in the 2002 list alone will NOT lead to voter deletion. Alternative documents can substitute.

Step 7: Fill Your Address Details

    Enter your current residential address:

    1. House Number/Name – Your complete house/building details
    2. Street/Road Name – Exact street where you live
    3. Village/Locality – Your area
    4. District – Telangana district
    5. Assembly Segment – Your constituency
    6. Polling Station – Where you vote (you can search this if unsure)

Important: This address must match your latest address proof (electricity bill, etc.). If you shifted recently, update to your new address.

Step 8: Aadhaar Verification (Optional but Recommended)

The form offers Aadhaar e-Sign for quick verification:

    1. Click “Verify with Aadhaar”
    2. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
    3. Your biometric will be requested (OTP to your registered Aadhaar mobile)
    4. Enter the OTP
    5. Aadhaar verification completes instantly

If you don’t have Aadhaar or don’t want to share it:

    • Skip this step
    • Your form will still be accepted
    • BLO will verify through other documents later

    Step 9: Review and Submit

    Before submitting, review everything:

    • Voter ID number correct?
    • Name spelled exactly right?
    • Mobile number linked?
    • Parent’s name found and linked?
    • Address details accurate?
    • All mandatory fields filled?

    If everything looks correct:

    1. Click “Submit Form”
    2. A confirmation page will appear
    3. Your form is now submitted

Step 10: Save Your Confirmation Details (IMPORTANT!)

    Immediately after submission, save these:

✅ Acknowledgment Number – 10-15 digit code. Save this! ✅ Application Reference Number – Another ID for your application ✅ Download Acknowledgment PDF – Click the download button and save ✅ Take a screenshot – Screenshot of the success message ✅ Note the submission time – When you submitted

Why save these? If the BLO visits your house later and asks for proof that you submitted, you show these documents. The BLO might not find it in the system immediately, so proof from you helps.

    What Happens After Submission?

    Timeline:

    • Immediately: Form submitted to Election Commission database
    • 24-48 hours: Your application moves to your local BLO
    • Within 7-10 days: BLO may visit your house for verification (or may skip if form is clear)
    • 2-3 weeks: Your updated voter information is confirmed

The BLO Visit: The BLO (Block Level Officer) may visit your house to:

    • Confirm you live at the given address
    • Verify your identity (see Aadhaar or documents)
    • Check parent’s details if required
    • Mark verification as complete

If the BLO doesn’t visit, don’t worry. It doesn’t mean there’s a problem. Your form might be approved without verification.

Q: What if the BLO never visited my house?

A: Your form is still valid. BLO visits are for additional verification only. If your form information is clear and matches records, approval happens without the visit.

Q: Can I fill the SIR form after the deadline?

A: Check the official announcements. If the deadline has passed, you may not be able to submit. Contact your BLO or Election Commission for late submissions.

Q: Is Aadhaar mandatory for SIR form?

A: No. Aadhaar e-Sign speeds up verification, but it’s optional. You can submit without Aadhaar. BLO will verify through other documents.

Q: Can I edit the form after submission?

A: Generally, no. Forms are locked after submission. If you made a mistake, contact the BLO to request amendment.

Q: Will I get an SMS or email confirmation?

A: Yes. Most portals send SMS and email confirmations immediately after submission. Check your spam folder if email doesn’t arrive.

Q: What if I submitted but don’t remember my acknowledgment number?

A: Log back into the portal using your Voter ID and check “Application Status” or “My Submissions.” Your reference number will be there.

Q: Can I have two voter IDs in different states?

A: No. Indian law allows only one voter ID per person. If you shift from another state, link with your new state. The old voter ID should be deleted.

Q: How do I delete a duplicate voter ID?

A: Contact the Election Commission or visit your nearest BLO office with proof that you’ve moved to Telangana. They’ll help delete the duplicate.

Q: What documents will the BLO ask during verification?

    A: Typically:
Voter ID proof (Aadhaar, passport, etc.)
Address proof (electricity bill, water bill)
If needed: birth certificate or parent’s details
Keep all documents you submitted in the form ready

    Documents Checklist Before Submission

Print this or save it on your phone:

    Before Filling:

    • Voter ID/EPIC number ready?
    • Mobile number linked?
    • Aadhaar card available?
    • Address proof printed/saved?
    • Birth certificate saved (if needed)?
    • Parent’s information noted?

    After Submission:

    • Acknowledgment number saved?
    • Reference number noted?
    • PDF downloaded?
    • Screenshot taken?
    • Email confirmation received?

    Quick Summary

Mobile not linked? → Fill Form 8 first → Wait 24-48 hours

Documents ready? → Keep voter ID, address proof, date of birth proof

Parent not in 2002 list? → Select “Neither name in Last SIR” → Submit → BLO will verify with alternative docs
